Privacy Policy
Beta version. Last updated: September 2026.
What we collect
- Email and name (from signup or Google SSO)
- Your role (student or tutor) and exam date
- Your answers, scores, and revision progress
- Acceptance timestamps for these terms, and for the AI study coach if you use it
- Your conversations with the AI study coach, including anything you upload to be marked
Where we store it
All personal and progress data is stored in Supabase, hosted in the EU West (Ireland) region.
There is one exception, and you have to agree to it before it can happen: if you use the AI study coach, what you send it leaves the EEA / UK. See The AI study coach below.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or share your data with advertisers.
- We don't use your work to train AI models, and we do not permit our AI provider to train on it either.
- Outside the AI study coach, we make no AI calls during your study sessions: every question, explanation and correction step is written in advance.
- We don't track you across other websites.
The AI study coach
Pin is our optional AI study coach. It answers questions on your syllabus and marks work you send it. It is off by default, and the first time you open it you are asked to agree to this section. You can use everything else in PinPoint without it.
- Pin is an AI, not a person. It gets things wrong. Check anything that matters against your lesson or your teacher.
- What you send it goes to OpenAI, in the United States. That means what you type, and any photo or PDF of your own work you upload for marking, together with the syllabus point being discussed. This is the only part of PinPoint where your data leaves the EEA / UK.
- OpenAI processes it to produce a reply, and nothing more. We do not enable data sharing for model training on our OpenAI account, so your work is not used to train their models.
- Your conversations are stored in your account, in the EU, so the coach can pick up where you left off. Deleting your account deletes them.
- Marking can only ever move a point down.If the coach marks an answer wrong, that point turns red as something to revisit. It can never mark a point as secure; only the app's own practice questions do that.
- You can withdraw. Email us and we will turn the coach off for your account and delete its conversations, keeping the rest of your progress.
If you are under 16, please check with a parent or guardian before agreeing to use the coach.
Your rights
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from settings. You can export your progress on request — email hello@pinpointrevision.com.
Children
The minimum age for a PinPoint account is 13. Parental consent for under-16s in the UK / EEA will be enforced before public launch.
